Riverfest has reached the final stages of the Red Funnel Isle of Wight Awards 2024!
After public voting opened earlier in 2024, after months of votes gained for various categories, Riverfest has made it through as a finalist in the ‘best island event’ category.
Paddy McHugh chair of Newport Carnival & Community Events Association (Riverfest) said:
“I am so proud of our team for getting through to the final stages, it represents the hard work the team put in to bring the event to you, free of charge, each year.”
Shane Thornton, vice-chair said:
“A proud moment for sure, having taken on Riverfest from the footprint trust in 2022 after the COVID pandemic nearly severed the event, it’s great that we have been able to bounce back and grow the event year-on-year.”
The team looks forward to attending the awards ceremony at Northwood House on Thursday 7th November 2024.
