Riverfest 2026 took place on Saturday, 9th May, at Newport Quay on the Isle of Wight. Celebrating its 18th year and the fifth year under the organisation of Newport Carnival, this year’s event was proudly delivered by a new organising team, bringing fresh energy to one of the Island’s most loved community festivals.
The day featured an exciting programme of live entertainment, including performances from Vectis Corps of Drums, Medina Marching Band, FAT Samba Band, Stevo & Magic Kai, the Boogie-Woogie Bluebirds, and Honky-Tonk Highway. Visitors also enjoyed the traditional Crowning of the Newport Carnival Royalty, led by High Sheriff Nigel Hartley.
Thousands of attendees gathered along the quay to enjoy food stalls, local craft vendors, family activities, and the lively community atmosphere. Organisers thanked the volunteers, performers, sponsors, and visitors whose continued support helps Riverfest remain a highlight of the Isle of Wight events calendar, celebrating community spirit while supporting local charitable causes.
